Bouzouki Night…everyone wants more!
Bouzouki Night was wonderful on March 10th.
We had a great turnout! We sang and danced the night away.
Kiriakos (Ken) Kakoullis started the evening by explaining how the Bouzouki was made and also gave a brief history of Rembetiko. Ken and his band played their music for the night.
We were also pleased to have Tom Wall, a representative from Celina Caesar-Chavannes, MP, Whitby with us. Mr. Wall presented our community with a certificate on behalf of Ms. Caesar-Chavannes on our work for over 40 years.
As our guest left they all wanted to know when the next bouzouki night would be. We promise to have more.
Here’s a sample of what some our guests said:
“Just wanted to extend thanks and congratulations to the committee for organizing a wonderful evening of Hellenic celebration. The music, food and atmosphere (Kefi) were amazing. Really nice to come out and see many of our families enjoying the evening together…” LD
“I want to say congratulations on last night. You did an excellent job organizing it! The band was excellent.” B
The community would also like to thank Mr. Bill Makris on spending endless hours in the kitchen making the mezediaka (appetizers) for the night.
